Dear employees,
The Russian invasion of Ukraine has shocked us and causes us great concern. This war brings about unspeakable suffering for the Ukrainian people and cannot be justified by anything.
Schunk has no location, offices or employees in Ukraine itself. However, we have business partners and customers in Ukraine as well as employees who come from Ukraine or have relatives there. Our sympathy goes out to them and their families at this difficult time.
In Russia, the Schunk Group has two companies with 41 employees. The Russian invasion of Ukraine has put our colleagues in Russia and also their families in a difficult situation. Many of them have family or other connections to Ukraine and we know that the current situation is very stressful for them.
We have reviewed our business relations with Russia and introduced significant restrictions. In addition, comprehensive regulatory sanctions are in place against Russia. Schunk is fully supporting these sanctions. This will have a negative impact on our business relations with Russia. However, Russia represents less than two percent of our sales, so the direct restrictions on trade with Russia will have only a minor impact on the Schunk Group as a whole.
Schunk has set up a crisis team to monitor developments and ensure that we can respond promptly. The crisis team is headed by Rüdiger Schwalm.
Particularly for our employees who are directly affected or affected in their personal environment, we hope that the war can be settled peacefully as quickly as possible.
