As a result of the war against Ukraine, the European Union and numerous other Western countries have issued and implemented a series of extensive sanctions packages against Russia. Schunk had already decided immediately after the start of the war to cease all business relations with Russia and to allow its subsidiaries Schunk Carbon Technology Russia and Weiss Klimatechnik Russia to operate under self-administration.
Since there has been no improvement in the situation since then, the continuation of business relations between Schunk and its Russian customers also appears impossible for the foreseeable future. Therefore, the management of the Schunk Group has now decided to completely discontinue business activities in Russia and sold the Russian subsidiaries to a Russian business partner of Weiss Technik. Both companies are no longer part of the Schunk Group.
